Padmini Chandra has been in the business of fabrics and bespoke ethnic apparel for over two decades. She started her journey in Mumbai with a tailoring and embroidery unit of four people. When she moved to Bangalore in 1993, she brought her penchant for Benarasi weaves and apparel design with her and restarted her business. In 2003, she launched her first retail range of curated fabric after an extensive scout of weavers from across the country. Her intimate knowledge of textiles and embroidery has been rendered in exquisitely crafted sarees, yardage and ensembles that define the ethos of Soulful Hues, today. Kavya Chandra joined the studio in 2012, bringing with her a flare for anything atypical. Adding a youthful burst of energy to the mix, Kavya likes to have fun with fabrics and patterns, pairing traditional weaves with modern silhouettes and voguish styles.
